Abstract

This study examines the formation of neologisms in English and Uzbek languages and highlights the main translation challenges associated with them. Neologisms emerge due to social, technological, and cultural changes, and they often reflect new realities. The research analyzes word-formation processes such as compounding, affixation, abbreviation, and borrowing. Special attention is given to the difficulties translators face when rendering neologisms, including lack of equivalents, cultural differences, and semantic ambiguity. The paper suggests possible strategies for adequate translation.
