Abstract

This study examines the lexicographical features involved in the translation of linguocultural units between Uzbek and English. Linguocultural units, which reflect the cultural, historical, and social identity of a language, pose significant challenges in translation due to their semantic and contextual specificity. The research analyzes various types of such units, including idioms, proverbs, realia, and culturally marked vocabulary, highlighting the strategies used to achieve equivalence in bilingual dictionaries and translations. Special attention is given to the role of lexicography in preserving cultural meaning and ensuring accurate interpretation. The findings contribute to improving translation practices and the development of more effective bilingual lexicographical resources.
