Annotation : This article explores the concept of learner autonomy and its significant role in successful language learning. Learner autonomy refers to students’ ability to take responsibility for their own learning process, including setting goals, selecting learning strategies, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes. The study examines how autonomous learners become more motivated, confident, and independent in acquiring language skills. It also highlights the relationship between autonomy and key factors of language learning success, such as communicative competence, critical thinking, and lifelong learning abilities. Furthermore, the article discusses the role of teachers in fostering autonomy through supportive learning environments, collaborative activities, and the use of modern educational technologies. The findings suggest that developing learner autonomy enhances students’ engagement and leads to more effective and sustainable language learning outcomes.
