Abstract: With the evolution of the era of globalization and fast technological advancements, the emergence of the digital economy and modern educational systems becomes one of the most important components in the processes of scientific development and progress. The shift from an industrial economy based on physical labor and tangible materials to a knowledge-based digital economy plays a crucial role in changing not only the nature but also the results of scientific researches and the modern educational approaches. This paper aims to consider the relations between the mentioned phenomena and explore their contribution into the development of science. Specifically, this work will focus on the way various components of digital economy affect the increase of scientific knowledge, namely artificial intelligence, big data technologies, cloud computing, blockchain technologies, and online education platforms. At the same time, it will identify and discuss several factors that impact the development of such systems and analyze their contribution to scientific achievements. As a result, the analysis conducted in this paper shows that countries where the integration of digital technologies into education is promoted effectively manage to achieve better results in scientific sphere.
