Abstract. This article examines the role and importance of songs and music in English language teaching. It discusses how songs can improve learners’ listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, and speaking skills through authentic and meaningful language exposure. The study highlights that music creates a positive and low-anxiety classroom environment, which increases students’ motivation and participation in language learning activities. In addition, songs help learners remember new vocabulary and language structures more effectively through repetition, rhythm, and melody. The article also refers to the views of scholars such as Stephen Krashen, Paul Nation, Zoltán Dörnyei, and Jeremy Harmer, who emphasize the significance of motivation, meaningful input, and communicative practice in language acquisition. The findings suggest that integrating songs into English lessons is an effective pedagogical strategy that supports both linguistic development and learner engagement in foreign language classrooms.
