Abstract

Remote work has emerged as one of the most significant transformations
in the modern labor market. Driven by technological advancements and
accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work has reshaped traditional
employment structures and organizational practices worldwide. This shift has
affected productivity, labor markets, business operations, and national
economies. While remote work offers numerous benefits, including increased
flexibility, reduced operational costs, and improved work-life balance, it also
presents challenges such as social isolation, cybersecurity risks, and economic
disparities. This article examines the rise of remote work and analyzes its
economic impact on businesses, employees, and society. The findings suggest
that remote work is likely to remain a permanent feature of the global economy,
requiring organizations and policymakers to adapt to changing workplace
dynamics.
