MODERN METHODS OF LABORATORY DIAGNOSIS IN HEPATITIS

Abstract

Viral hepatitis remains one of the leading causes of chronic liver disease, liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide. Accurate and timely laboratory diagnosis is essential for identifying the etiological agent, assessing disease activity, determining prognosis, and monitoring therapeutic response. In addition to conventional biochemical and serological assays, modern laboratory medicine employs advanced molecular techniques that significantly improve diagnostic accuracy. This thesis reviews contemporary laboratory methods used in the diagnosis of hepatitis and highlights their clinical importance.
