Abstract

Anemia is one of the most common hematological disorders worldwide and represents a major public health concern. It is characterized by a reduction in hemoglobin concentration and/or red blood cell mass, leading to impaired oxygen delivery to tissues. Accurate diagnosis of anemia requires a comprehensive laboratory approach aimed at identifying its etiology, assessing disease severity, and guiding appropriate treatment. In recent years, significant advances in laboratory medicine have improved the diagnostic accuracy of various types of anemia. This article reviews modern laboratory methods used in the diagnosis of anemia and highlights their clinical significance.
