Abstract

This article explores the evolution of English dictionaries from early printed wordlists to modern digital platforms. It analyzes key milestones in lexicography, including the contributions of Robert Cawdrey, Samuel Johnson, and the Oxford English Dictionary. The study also examines the transition from print to digital formats, highlighting improvements in accessibility, searchability, and real-time updates. The findings demonstrate that modern lexicography is a dynamic field shaped by technological advancements and changing user needs
