Abstract

This thesis explains the main financial risks that appear when providing and managing educational loans and grants. Such financial instruments play a crucial role in improving access to education and supporting human capital development. However, they also face serious financial challenges that may threaten the efficiency and sustainability of educational financing systems. The aim of this research is to identify, analyze, and propose management strategies for minimizing financial risks in the context of educational loans and grants.

Educational loans and grants are designed to make higher education more affordable, especially for students from low- and middle-income families. Despite their social benefits, these programs often struggle with financial stability due to uncertain repayment rates, administrative inefficiencies, and external economic or political shocks. Therefore, understanding financial risks and developing suitable mitigation strategies is essential for maintaining a sustainable and inclusive educational financing system.
