Abstract

The rapid growth of globalization has increased the need for individuals who can communicate effectively across cultural boundaries. English language education plays a significant role in preparing learners for intercultural communication by integrating linguistic knowledge with cultural understanding. This article examines the importance of intercultural competence in English language teaching, discusses its essential components, and presents practical classroom strategies that help students develop intercultural awareness. The study argues that English lessons should move beyond language instruction to promote empathy, critical thinking, and respect for cultural diversity.
