Abstract: This study examines the functional role of religious lexical units in contemporary English literature. It explores the semantic, stylistic, and communicative functions of religious words and expressions within literary texts. The research also investigates how religious vocabulary contributes to conveying the author’s artistic intentions, revealing the characters’ inner experiences and worldviews, and enriching the ideological content of literary works. The findings demonstrate that religious lexis serves not only as a means of expressing religious concepts but also as an effective linguistic tool for enhancing aesthetic impact, reflecting cultural values, and communicating philosophical and moral ideas in modern English literature.
