THE METAPHORICAL EXPRESSION OF THE “LIFE-DEATH” CONCEPT: EXPERIENCE OF ENGLISH AND KARAKALPAK LITERATURE

This article explores the metaphorical means of expressing the “life and death” concept in the experiences of English and Karakalpak literature. The study focuses on how metaphoric language reveals the worldview, values, and emotional attitudes of societies through literary works. Drawing from the rich heritage of English and Karakalpak writers and poets, the paper analyzes recurrent metaphors related to life and death, investigates the cognitive and cultural mechanisms underlying their creation, and observes the mutual influences and unique features of both literatures. In comparing the two traditions, the study uncovers patterns, differences, and similarities in the representation of existential themes, highlighting the narrative role of metaphors in shaping collective and individual perceptions of reality.
